Hartford, CT June 21, 2010 – Every year members from the Ferrari Club of North America have been coming to the Village to provide a day of unforgettable fun for children who are in the Village’s residential program. Beginning in 2001, the half-day event was first initiated when long time member of the Village’s Glastonbury Auxiliary Rosemary Lombardo and her husband Peter introduced the New England Chapter of the Ferrari Club to the Village. In a statement made during this year’s event, the President & CEO of the Village Dr. Galo Rodriguez shared with all who attended that for 10 years the Ferrari Club of North America has been involved with the Village. Over the course of that time, the club has magnanimously donated $100,000 to programs that directly benefit the children the Village serves. This year’s event included a cookout, ice cream sundaes and a check presented in the amount of $13,000 – the Ferrari Clubs 2010 gift to the Village. Of course, the highlight of the day was when the residential children at the Village were able to have an unforgettable ride in the Ferraris - and their excitement and smiles say it all.
The 5,000 members of the Ferrari Club of America enjoy exciting track events, an internationally recognized Concours d'Elegance and a wide variety of year-round social activities. Active Regions throughout the U.S. and Canada maintain a full Calendar of Events with hundreds of Ferraris, hundreds more people, a Swap Meet, Concours, Rally, track event and banquets, draws participants from around the world.
