New Director of Maternal & Child Health

The Village is proud to anounce, Dr. Sandy Kyriakopoulo has been named the new Director of Maternal and Child Health at the Village for Families & Children, Inc. The Director of Maternal Child Health will contribute to the agency’s mission of building a strong community by providing a range of developmentally appropriate and culturally competent mental health services to young children and their families with a focus on the parent-young child relationship, community, strength –based and relationship orientated approaches to treatment and programming.

The Director of Maternal Child Health is a part of the Mid Level Developmental Assessment design team and leads the internal implementation of the policies and protocols. Ensues the Early Childhood and Family Development Department provides high quality direct client care as well as contribute to other departments understanding and utilization of child development research, evidence based models and developmentally appropriate and informed practices. Serves as the Manager on duty for the Early Childhood and Family Development Department and provides direct administrative and reflective/clinical supervision for assigned programs. Dr. Kyriakopoulo is a member of a team that includes psychiatrist, psychologists, social workers, parent educators, child development specialists, home visitors, case managers, and FFS Developmentalist staff. Focuses on professional development of staff by continuing to strengthen clinical, developmental and applied early childhood mental health through the establishment of an Early Childhood Learning Collaborative, Early Childhood Rounds and a Mid-level Assessment process that is integrated into agency workflow.
