Jeanmarie H. Cooper, Chair, Board of Directors
Jeanmarie Cooper brings experience and dedication to her work on the Village's Board. She has been a member of the Junior League of Hartford for 10 years, serving on the board for two years. She is a member of Leadership Greater Hartford's Quest 2004 program and is also an active volunteer at Gideon Welles School. Ms. Cooper earned a BS in biology from Bates College and an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Prior to starting her family, she worked in corporate finance for G.E. Capital and Drexel Burnham Lambert, where she provided growth and acquisition financing for middle market companies. Ms. Cooper lives in Glastonbury with her husband, Colin, and their two children.

Galo A. Rodriguez, MPH, President and Chief Executive Officer
Until Galo Rodriguez was appointed to lead the Village as President and CEO in June 2006, his career included positions of leadership with Catholic Charities, the Institute for the Hispanic Family, the Hartford Street Youth Project and the Hispanic Substance Abuse Program. “My vision for the Village is to assure that the most vulnerable children and families have access to and benefit from quality and culturally competent services. I welcome the challenge of working together with the board, staff and community to continue making a life-changing difference in the lives of children and families,” he told the Board of Directors. Dr. Rodriguez has a Masters in Public Health from the University of Connecticut and received his training and licensure as a Doctor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Cartagena in his native Colombia in 1981.

Luis B. Perez, LCSW, Chief Operating Officer
Well respected in Connecticut’s social services community, Mr. Perez brings to the Village over 20 years of distinguished experience. Most recently he served as CEO of the Connecticut Valley Hospital, a 550-bed psychiatric facility in Middletown. Prior to that, he was the CEO and Clinical Director at the Capital Region Mental Health Center. Mr. Perez also worked at the Institute for Living, where he served as director of the division of child and adolescent services. Mr. Perez began his career in banking, joking that he had an early mid-life crisis at the age of 26 which led him to social services. A graduate of Emerson College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business and organizational communications, Mr. Perez also has a Master of Social Work from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work.

Edward E. Hackett, MBA, Chief Financial Officer
Financial services have been the focus of Ed Hackett’s work ever since college graduation. As Village CFO since 2008, Mr. Hackett brings to the Village his strong track record of building trust, influence and excellent working relationships. He expects to contribute to the success of a rapidly changing Village through strengthening core financial management systems and processes, as well as creating a long-term vision of fiscal strengths and operating efficiencies. Educated at the University of Connecticut, with an MBA from Brigham Young University in Utah, Mr. Hackett most recently served as CFO of Wheeler Clinic. He sets challenging personal goals for himself as well—he’s a finisher of the New York, San Diego, and Tucson marathons.
