LIBRARY ASSISTANT

PROGRAM: Village South Library

LOCATION: Village South, 331 Wethersfield Ave.

LENGTH OF SERVICE: ongoing

DAYS/HOURS: Flexible (Prefer 6 to 10 hours per week)

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for maintenance of library collection

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Organize current collection
• Develop system for secure check-out and return of materials
• Acquisition and cataloguing of new materials (if budgeted)
• Provide research and interlibrary loan services to staff and interns, if feasible

QUALIFICATIONS:

• General library experience, minimum of 2 years. Prefer MLS.
• Physically able to perform required functions of the position, including lifting and moving boxes of books with or without reasonable accommodations.
