Hartford, CT March 8, 2010 – The Village for Families and Children, Inc. is pleased to announce Karen Brown as a new member to its Board of Directors.   Karen Brown has a MEd in Counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor working in Private Practice in West Hartford. Prior to transitioning to private practice she was involved with Friends of the Family, a program of the Village. Karen continued her involvement with the agency as a volunteer and now serves as a new member to the board. An active volunteer, she offers support to patients and families on the Oncology and Palliative Care Ward at Hartford Hospital.  Additionally she is a Bereavement Support Group facilitator for the VNA.
