THE HARTFORD COURANT SUPPORTS HOLIDAY GIVING TREE

Hartford, CT December 22, 2009 – The Hartford Courant has donated gifts to support the Village for Families & Children, Inc. and its Holiday Giving Tree Program. For many years the Hartford Courant has participated in the program by providing gifts for children at the Village.

Thanks this year to the leadership of Andrea Savastra, hundreds of families in Hartford will have their holiday wishes come true. Village President and CEO Galo Rodriguez said, “I would like to sincerely thank all of the employees at the Hartford Courant for your wonderful efforts. Each of you has helped make a child’s holiday wishes come true this season.” The Hartford Courant is also a supporter of the Village’s Backpack Program, which every September provides students with needed supplies to support their academic learning.

The Hartford Courant is the country's oldest newspaper in continuous publication. The daily publication seeks to provide the news Connecticut needs, reported faithfully and fully, with respect for all and favor to none. The Hartford Courant strives to be authoritative and insightful, to inform and to delight and to be the indispensable, timely source of information on the economic, political, social, sports and cultural life of Connecticut.
