Village Receives Courant/Fox 61 Children's Holiday Campaign Grant
The Village for Families and Children, Inc. is pleased to announce that it is the recipient of a $7,000 grant from the Courant/Fox 61 Children's Holiday Campaign, a fund of the McCormick Foundation. Richard Graziano CEO, President and Publisher Sr. Vice President Tribune Broadcasting, GM, FOX 61 and TXX - TV 20 along with Andrea Savastra, Corporate Affairs and Communications Consultant presented the check to Dr. Galo Rodriguez, President and CEO of the Village who gratefully acknowledged their commitment to the Hartford community. The Children's Holiday Campaign brings relief to the most vulnerable children, youth, and families in our state, those who have the least when it comes to nutrition, wellness, and education.
The McCormick Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to strengthening our free, democratic society by investing in children, communities and country. Through its five grant making programs, Cantigny Park and Golf, and three world-class museums, the Foundation helps build a more active and engaged citizenry. The Foundation was established as a charitable trust in 1955, upon the death of Colonel Robert R. McCormick, the longtime editor and publisher of the Chicago Tribune. The Foundation is one of the nation's largest charities, with $1.2 billion in assets. While the Foundation no longer holds an ownership position in Tribune Company, it remains committed to the communities that company operates.
The Village for Families and Children, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded in 1809 that provides services for families and children in the greater Hartford. Two centuries later, the Village has evolved to become one of the largest community service organizations in the region. The Village provide services to thousands of children and families per year. The Villages primary service focus is adoption and foster care programs, outpatient and residential health services, and community support services.
