Motivational Enhancement and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies Training

Most commonly used approaches for adolescent substance use disorders

The Village for Families and Children announces that it will sponsor a 12-hour workshop on motivational enhancement and cognitive behavioral therapies (MET/CBT). This program has been approved for continuing education credit hours by the National Association of Social Workers, Connecticut and meets the continuing education criteria for state Social Work licensure renewal. Sessions will be led by Yifrah Kaminer MD, MBA, Professor of Psychiatry, Department of Psychiatry & Alcohol Research Center, and Co-Director of Research Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, University of Connecticut Health Center. Dr. Kaminer is a leader in the clinical research of assessment, treatment, and aftercare of high-risk behaviors particularly substance abuse, gambling behavior and suicidal behavior in youth with co morbid psychiatric disorders.
