PROGRAM: ALLISON GILL LODGE
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: The Youth Counselor is responsible for the daily supervision and guidance of adolescent females in a therapeutic Group home or residential setting. The youth counselor is responsible for guiding, teaching, and serving as a role model to clients utilizing a gender specific, trauma informed, strength based, culturally competent behavior model to ensure the safety and individual goals of each client are achieved. The youth counselor reinforces the policies and philosophy of the organization while maintaining professional communication both verbal and written with internal and external team members to assure a productive, informed environment. May provide additional related activities, as appropriate and assigned.
SCHEDULE: PER DIEM
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors degree in Social Services or equivalent in training and experience preferred. Minimum of Associates Degree required.

Training in Gender Specific, Trauma Informed, Strength Based, and Culturally competent Behavior models.

1-2 years experience working with disturbed children/adolescents

Basic computer skills – MS Word, Outlook, preferred.

Certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, preferred or within 3 months of hire.

Medication Certification is required to be obtained/maintained for all FT and RPT employees hired after August 31, 2005. Change of employment classification may occur if medication administration certification is not maintained by full time or regular part-time employees.
